Carotid Doppler ultrasound: what to expect?

Hey everyone! My grandma has a carotid Doppler scheduled soon. She’s pretty anxious about it and wants to know what to expect, but I’m completely in the dark regarding this specific scan. If anyone here has been through it or knows the drill, could you walk me through how the procedure actually works? Thanks!

It’s just an ultrasound of the blood vessels in the neck—the ones that feed the brain. It doesn't hurt at all, and there's zero danger involved. Honestly, the worst part is just the sensation of that cold gel hitting the skin... Tell your grandma she’s got nothing to worry about.
