Too loud. Mandelbrot is the king here. That other post-rock stuff was just mediocre filler.

The kind of things you stumble upon in dive bars—that’s where the real gems are.🙂

The Mandelbrot sets are absolutely stunning, though I didn't manage to arrive until about 5:00 PM. If luck is on my side, I'll be able to make up for it next Friday. 🙂
Alice in Wonderland is quite good, but Peach piti is even better. 👍

All three performers were solid in my book.

Picked up a CD 🙂 (which ended up stuck in someone else's bag, naturally 😵)

That stroke of luck coastalpanther11 mentioned was just what I needed before bed. Oh well...

The mandelbrot set was actually pretty decent, more than I expected.
Highlight of the night: that finale.

Those 777 glasses? Top tier. Honestly, though, they had even better stuff back in Greenwich—they weren't playing these over-the-top, dramatic hits to close out the set; instead, they did this killer, high-energy rehearsal of their hits just for friends and skydivers.
Highlights (just a few picks): the part where they shouted "Play U2!" and that massive, soul-cleansing anthem at the end of the set.

I honestly don't get Alice in Wonderland anymore, and I'm fine with leaving it at that.
Highlight of the moment: when France stops playing to protest, and then the band just kicks off again with another track.

The latest updates from Mandelbrot are absolutely killing it, but honestly, if anyone has an issue with Chris’s wise words, they can just go ahead and take a seat elsewhere. 🙂

They were just cranking up the amps regardless of what the volume was set at. At least, that’s what he told me when I asked him to turn the music down a bit...🙂

Some of you guys were probably still in diapers while I was out jumping in mosh pits and listening to my parents blast some weird noise music. That’s why there's so much jazz influence in everything; if it wasn't for Mingus, Coltrane, or Coleman, today's rock wouldn't even sound the way it does. Honestly, just ask the guys in Sonic Youth—they'll tell you how much certain music changed their lives. They would've been just another forgettable hardcore band if Kim Gordon hadn't brought her favorite free jazz records along when she moved to NYC...

Caught two sets from (ms) and they were killer... then I hit up &td and finally made it to The Wizard of Oz, which actually blew me away for once. I figured I was just wiped out, but apparently, a few other people felt the same way...
