The deficit is bigger than what we're actually spending.

How on earth could a solitary, humble egg possibly cause weight gain? I mean, if you really think about itβ€”you’re mostly looking at the egg whites, which are pure protein, devoid of any significant fats...
Unless, of course, one were to consume them by the gross, perhaps 142 of them every single day.... in which case, I suppose one might find themselves gaining a bit of weight.

Well, my understanding was always that an egg consists of both the white and the yolk, which means you have the proteins from the white and the fats found in the yolk... 😁
But honestly, I’m not even sure if those fats are the real culprit here. If we are looking at things purely from a caloric standpoint, I suspect you'd find yourself feeling much more sluggish from a heavy load of carbohydrates than you ever would from a bit of dietary fat.

But honestly, acting like fat is the main culprit feels misguided; if we're looking at equal caloric loads, you'll likely find yourself feeling far more sluggish from the carbs than from any amount of dietary fat.

That’s true... one really must maintain a distinction between the good fats and the bad ones...
