My random beach day album list:

1. 'On the Beach' - It’s literally made for this setting; perfect for when the heat is cranking up. Even old man Neil knows that one works.

2. 'Second Edition' - Just brainless reggae. It’s like they took Jah Wobble and just added layers of fat until it was all just thumping bass... thump, thump, thump...

...

A bitter realization (kind of like getting punched in the face) regarding Angelic Upstarts:
For exampleβ€”Solidarity 😲

Man, what happened? They went from raw energy to acoustic protest guitars, synth layers, and terrace rhythms...

Look, their hearts might still be in the right place, but the aesthetic is totally lost.
I have to draw a line in the sand after '2,000,000 Voices.'
'Woman in Disguise' as a single is fine, I guess. 😍

...

Now, a quick word on food:

1. Olive oil = the gold standard.

2. Cantaloupe = absolute fruit heaven. The combination of aroma, flavor, and texture is unbeatable, especially when it hits that perfect level of sweetness.

The best kind of oilβ€”sunflower oil, rich and fatty, but honestly, pretty carcinogenic when you cook with it at high heat.

The best kind of oilβ€”high-quality sunflower oil, packed with carcinogens once you fry it.

... or ideally, mixed with some rendered lard. Straight from the Midwest!πŸ‘‹
Only if you can keep it at -13 Β°F.

Damn, I guess I really am an islander/coastal guy at heart.

Olive oil is just like Krieg.

Melons are a nightmareβ€”but I guess we’ve already covered that.

Mmm, cantaloupe... maybe just a little squeeze of lemon... mmm, perfection.

As far as I'm concerned, everything. πŸ™‚

A simple tomato salad: some juicy tomatoes, a bit of finely minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, maybe a dash of seasoning salt, and eventually some Danish salty cheese (though Feta works just fine too)! 😍

Forget the seasoning salt.

Another round of the food fetish thread, rolls the dice
So, back to our usual debate: melon and prosciuttoβ€”is it a dream combo or just a total massacre (definitely a massacre if we're talking ham)
Is there anyone out there actually eating melon with mayo 😬?
On another note: Last.fm finally updated how they handle top list lags. I remember having AOL in my weekly top listening after hearing just one single track, yet it didn't show up on my all-time favorites at all. Now it’s actually working, so here is the real scale of my obsession (and this is just what I play at workβ€”doesn't even count home or car listening):
My top 5, with fifth place being a tie:
1 AOL - What Holds the World Together 44
2 Morphine - Buena 24
3 Yo La Tengo - You Can Have It All 22
4 Marshmallow - Small Wind 18
4 Fred Neil - Everybody's Talkin' 18
4 Paul Simon - American Tune 18

edit: seasoning salt ruins everything πŸ™‚ Melon is great, and honestly, with prosciutto, it's killer

Vegeta is killer in meat juices. Everywhere else, it just doesn't belong. image

Vlasac is intenseβ€”but if you've already got enough garlic, maybe it's overkill, right?

The ocean is basically paradise because that’s where you find the watermelon.

Honestly, forget everything else; I’m just over it. 😈

I honestly feel like that olive oil isn't even made from olives anymore. I mean, if the song isn't lying, nobody's been out there harvesting them for ages...😬

Vegeta is actually pretty great on a dead chicken when you're grilling it up on the BBQ
