What kind of forum is this, where some moderator can just play God and shut down threads whenever they feel like it? Am I not entitled to ask a question the way I want—without all the fluff—WITHOUT being lectured on my phrasing or having someone predict how many answers I'll get based on my tone? "Good intentions," they claim... right. Is there anyone here with a conscience who’s going to address this? A moderator shouldn't act like a dictator just because someone pushes back, using their "authority" as a tool to flex whenever their ego feels bruised...

Don't delete the damn post; just answer it.

Well, Equifax is a decent enough toolkit... I see there has been some editing happening on this thread 🙄

A moderator has the authority (and, if I recall correctly, the obligation) to edit both titles and posts that violate the rules. The very title of the role defines the job description . They are expected to draw a line in the sand when someone attempts to derail the concept or compromise the integrity of the forum 😬

So, someone decided they needed to "EDIT" a post again just to suit their own little narrative...

It’s honestly pointless at this stage. You've already proven you're an absolute joke. Just shut everything down, or I'll be forced to take this up with someone personally...

Yeah, obviously you’re gonna step in personally, this makes zero sense. The mods are doing whatever they want right now, but it won't last long. There's some hierarchy changes coming soon... nothing's set in stone yet, but most of the mod team is getting swapped out anyway

I didn't break any damn rules, other than trying to stop this jerk from posting some pathetic, off-topic tutorial on how to format a question within a post (even though the question itself was perfectly valid, he was just trying too hard to be clever with the presentation)...

It’s only natural that a post got wiped here too (maybe more than one, if I missed them) because he didn't care for it...

Look, don't go jumping to conclusions and spreading unnecessary panic here. First off, Equi doesn't even have the permissions to delete posts on this subforum. Second, there was one post deleted on this thread, and yeah, the guy who wrote it just scrubbed it himself. Third, maybe clean up your language a bit so I don't have to. Fourth—and just for the record—a junior mod can close, edit, or delete posts and threads if they want to, so imagine what a full-blown moderator can actually do. Fifth, lose the "bossy" tone.

That's all I've got to say. 🥳

If a moderator has the authority to just wipe someone's post, then you can't blame the individual... it's clearly a failure of the system itself. The guy is clearly rattled, and for good reason; you should probably get up to speed, Captain...

And now you're complaining about why a thread like this gets closed? I honestly have no clue where this crowd comes from—people like you who hang out in the IT section. Are you all actually trying to be idiots, or are you just naturally gifted at it? Honestly, you're lucky Equi is the moderator here. If I were in charge, I would've shut this thread down after your very first reply—mostly because that would be the second reason to kill it. The first reason? Your question just doesn't make any sense. Besides locking the thread, I’d probably point you toward the stickied post explaining how to actually frame a quality question and present a problem properly. Then, I’d toss you a ban just to keep you from whining even more. Ah, those were the good old days. 😁

Naturally, someone here probably deleted a post or two of mine as well because they didn't care for my tone..

I noticed there was some editing happening—though I can't tell exactly what was changed. Usually, an edit implies the original content was a bit crude. Your question simply didn't provide enough data for anyone to offer high-quality assistance. It's not like Tigman is a bad guy; he's been around a long time and is helpful, but lately, there's been a surge of questions that require people to read minds, which is irritating and clutters the forum. As for Equia, I know for a fact they aren't the type of person to edit your post just because they're having a bad day. You're being a bit temperamental and you lost your cool far too early.
