So, I woke up today with this nasty bruise under my eyeβ€”about a 2cm cut, and two of my points are actually stinging, lucky me 😍 😍 . I was wondering if this is going to leave a permanent scar? Is there anything specific I should be doing to minimize the damage, and if it ends up looking pretty bad, is there any way to get rid of it?

You can pick up some scar creams at the local CVS, but honestly? Those scars on a guy... man, they just do it for me. 😍

The area around it looks really healthy and well-healed so far. Plus, since you had a surgeon handle the wound, I don't think you'll end up looking like Al Capone 😬
Just let the wound do its thing and heal naturally. Don't go messing around with all those different creams unnecessarily... unless, and I really mean IF once the stitches come out and things settle down after about ten days, you notice the scar is actually raisedβ€”that’s when you start thinking about creams. Not before. 😈
Right now, you're better off putting some ice on your eye (just wrap it in a plastic bag so the wound stays dry) to help bring down the swelling. If the skin around the wound stays swollen, it can actually slow down the healing process and leave you with a wider scar.

Once it hits the scabbing stage, don't you dare touch itβ€”just let it be until it falls off on its own once it's completely dried out.

Anything I should watch out for to keep it minimal? And if it ends up looking hideous, can you even fix that?

I heard you wiped out from a tree🀣.

Anyway, you'll be fineβ€”fingers crossed for youπŸ™‚ 😘

Like Susan Martin24 said, just let it heal for now. Personally, once you're patched up, I'd suggest hitting up a decent dermatologist to grab some scar cream. There’s actually a ton of stuff out there, so it might be worth having a pro point you toward something that actually works.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Honestly, I wish I had just fallen out of a cherry tree instead; it would have been a much sweeter way to go. As for getting some sun... yes or no?
