Man, that was a tough watch. 😵 I’m not exactly an expert on film theory, but honestly, the whole thing just left me feeling puzzled—and since there isn't a dedicated thread for it, I figured I'd drop this here to see what you all think. From what I gathered, Godard went out of his way to make the film feel cold and detached to highlight how technology impacts society, whereas😬 those scenes with Lemmy and Natasha were actually incredible—really easy to watch because they capture the raw essence of a human connection forming. I know, I'm probably overthinking it, but I am genuinely stumped by this one. 😬 😬

The plot is actually great, but man, the execution is just tedious and exhausting to sit through. 👎

Look, you just have to embrace it—really get into it and make it your own...

This movie is incredibly inventive—it’s got a double hook that really grabs you. I honestly had no idea they were making films this complex back in 1965, but apparently, they were, at least over in France 🤷

I’m convinced pieces of this film paved the way for countless dystopian flicks and general noir cinema (aren't those basically the same thing anyway?) without us even realizing it.
It's a perfect example of how you don't need flashy technical wizardry if you have a rock-solid script, a clear vision, and a few actors who are willing to go all in 😎

Back in those years, they were producing films far more complex than even *Alphaville*.

Godard might actually be my favorite. I spent my teenage years obsessed with Weekend, then moved on to this one. But he's influenced me so deeply since then that I almost can't bring myself to watch his older stuff anymore. The new ones just feel completely exhausted.

Personally, I’m more of a Weekend guy... though, honestly, I might be mixing that up with that Buñuel film where the characters are stuck in some endless loop, unable to actually get home or reach their destination—I can't quite recall the title...
