If we actually listened to our "brilliant" youth, we’d be booking much higher quality acts and selling out arenas every night. But instead, what do we get? We get old relics being brought in like Metallica, Pink (seriously?! When were they even relevant?), Lenny Kravitz, or BlackRock (who honestly play like they barely want to be on stage for $333)...

I'm sorry, but you really have to ask yourself... why does Vienna always have a massive lineup of top-tier performers with packed venues, while the exact same concert over there draws 150-$83 people, yet here in the States we struggle to hit 350-400?!?

With all due respect, you're talking nonsense. Metallica, the Rolling Stones, and Lenny Kravitz are some of the biggest arena acts on the planet right now. Whether you or I personally enjoy them is irrelevant—it’s a non-issue. Their names alone guarantee a full house; if our local promoters can't figure out how to capitalize on that, that's their failure, not the artists' fault.

Vienna has more concerts? Since when? When it comes to global superstars, the US (think Washington, D.C. or San Francisco) has a far superior offering compared to Vienna—and half those shows being run in Vienna are actually organized by our own people anyway. Now, if we're strictly talking about the metal scene, that's a different story entirely.

In recent memory, I can't recall a single band or artist playing in Vienna that I actually wanted to see. A long time ago, you had Nirvana or Cave hitting those stages—back when you were probably still in diapers. Not anymore.
The acts worth seeing eventually made their way to Washington, D.C. sooner or later.
Same goes for the Pixies.

Vienna seems more concert-heavy, though it’s really just a matter of sheer volume...

But I am genuinely curious—what was the turnout like for the Stones in Washington, D.C.? Or look at the World Cup semifinals in Germany; the ticket prices were through the roof! How does that compare?

I never said the Rolling Stones concert would be a hit. Personally? It looks like suicide. But since the Knicks are hosting it—using taxpayer money, no less—I guess they couldn't care less if it flops or flies. As long as Bandić can claim he's "gifting" the concert to the Knicks, right?

On the flip side, they could always set up a massive video wall to broadcast the games—maybe they're banking on crowds coming in from Canada or Canada...

That’s exactly what I said, and I’ll say it again: anything worth playing eventually hits Washington, D.C. The Pixies are no exception.
The point is that everyone ends up in D.C. anyway. We aren't any less relevant than Vienna; if anything, we have the upper hand now because the market is bigger, making it much easier to pull a massive crowd.

I caught the '98 game and honestly, it was alright. A bunch of the guys were out there playing, most of them performing for the first time in over twenty years, and man, it was actually pretty cool to see them still got it. Back then, they were in their prime, but I am definitely not dropping $700 right now just to watch a bunch of old geezers show up eight years from now. No way in hell 🙂. Aside from that, I’m probably gonna shell out about $55 for some Facebook merch on a t-shirt the day before. One thing I don't get, though—why does it feel like The Stones always show up right when we're playing in the World Cup? Last time they were in town, we ended up taking third place. This could be a massive omen, so fingers crossed for 🙂 😁
