Look, using an Intel cable would be the most straightforward solution, but since nothing in my life ever works out that easily, my monitor lacks an Intel port entirely. It’s strictly DVI. So, I obviously need an Intel to DVI adapter to act as a bridge... which is easy enough to solve, but before I go spending money on an adapter, I wanted to verify the audio first... and that’s where things get complicated.
I need a standard RCA cable—you know, the one with the white, yellow, and red plugs—to connect to a device that can actually receive and play back that audio signal...
Ideally, I want to route this directly through my computer speakers. They have the red and white audio jacks on the back (the yellow video jack is useless to me now since the picture is running through the Intel connection), but when I plug them in, I get absolutely nothing.
Just to clarify, I’ve been testing this setup alongside my TV by using a component-style connection via the composite ports to confirm that the console is actually outputting sound consistently. My goal is to disconnect the RCA cable from the TV and plug it straight into my speakers without having to constantly fumble with the controller just to navigate menus. Basically, I want a seamless transition. So, what am I doing wrong here? And does the entire console need to be powered down for these changes to take effect, forcing me to start the whole process over from scratch?
Note two: I have already confirmed in the system sound settings that the audio output is directed toward the RCA connection...
