So, I'm hunting for some movie recommendations—anything involving voodoo themes, ritualistic killings, decapitated chickens, that kind of thing 😬

Right now, *Angel Heart* keeps popping into my head—it’s an absolute masterpiece 🙏 and then there's *Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil*, where the voodoo element is pretty subtle, but it's still there 🙏

Currently, I'm really digging deep to find Wes Craven's *The Serpent and the Rainbow*.

Shoot 🙏 🙏 🙏

Hmm, the last thing I actually sat down to watch—even went out to a theater for it—was some horror flick, I think it was called 'The Key of Fear,' or something along those lines... the director is the same guy who did 'The Circle.'
It wasn't exactly anything groundbreaking, I suppose. 🙄

I’m sitting here desperately trying to dredge up the memory of a solid horror-thriller from the 70s or 80s centered around that specific theme—I think I even saw it broadcast on PBS once—but for the life of me, I can't recall anything titled "Kill Me." Maybe I'm just getting old. 😳I'll give you a shout if it comes back to me!

The only other thing clicking in my brain right now is "Perdita Durango." Pure A24 style energy: voodoo, sex, and violence! Honestly, it's a fantastic flick. 👍

Honestly, I think it’s way better than The Day of the Beast by the same director. Can you give me a quick rundown of that movie you can't seem to remember?

I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet, but I have a feeling it holds up quite well

The Serpent and the Rainbow
is solid—plus, White Zombie😉 is also a pretty great watch.

Basically, you have this guy investigating a series of murders, and he slowly gets pulled into a whole mess involving voodoo that ties everything together—it's all very "blah blah blah." The only thing that really stuck with me was one particularly gruesome scene featuring some voodoo woman slaughtering chickens.🤣

Angel Heart? Is he seeing some Black woman? And does it end with a kid being involved?

The Serpent and the Rainbow
is solid, and honestly, White Zombie😉 is pretty great too.

Have you checked out The Serpent and the Rainbow? Is it any good?

From what I can tell, this one looks like it'll be awesome.

The Wicker Man is incredible! I watched it about a month ago and it’s genuinely great—not just in a "wow, cool horror flick" kind of way, but as a truly top-tier piece of cinema🙏🙏🙏

Though, I was mostly thinking about movies with a voodoo theme, and The Wicker Man definitely fits that vibe.

Again, just a phenomenal film🙏

Is this voodoo Academy thing some kind of joke? I'm really not interested in comedies or anything just poking fun at the subject matter 😠

Check out this flick

🤣 🤣 🤣

It’s about some kids who accidentally kill a guy in a car crash—only to have some voodoo woman bring him back to life. Naturally, he comes back for revenge. It’s got that classic, low-budget 80s horror vibe, featuring the legendary Adam West as a police inspector.

Plus, you get a soundtrack by Motörhead 🙂

You guys totally missed "voodoo".
It was even featured on local news stations back in the day.

So, you think a bunch of mindless drones is the peak of entertainment, don't you? 🙄
