When I went to pick up my ultrasound results (breast imaging, if that matters), I was handed the report but no actual images. The technician was practically halfway out the door and usually handles that part of the process, so maybe she just forgot to hand them over? The paperwork says I need to bring both the report and the images to my next appointment, so... since everything came back clear, is that why they didn't give me the scans?😕

I didn't get the footage either, just the lab report

Back when I was doing abdominal ultrasounds at the clinic, they never gave me any images; the report just said everything looked fine.

But when I worked at the private practice doing vaginal ultrasounds? I always got the scans, regardless of whether the results were good or bad.

I work in ultrasound, so if everything looks perfectly normal, there isn't really anything worth capturing on camera 😍 which means I just hand over the written report.
But, if we spot any kind of anomaly—it doesn't matter what it is, like a cyst in the breast or a fibroadenoma—we make sure to take plenty of images. Those shots get attached directly to the report, and when you go back for a follow-up, you absolutely have to bring your previous results and those specific images so the doctor can compare them side-by-side.

Lately, I’ve been stuck getting constant FBI scans—mostly at that clinic in Beverly Hills—and it seems like every single time, they hand me both the image and the formal report, regardless of whether there’s actually an issue or not. It’s pretty obvious this isn't some mandatory protocol, but rather just whatever the doctor feels like doing in the moment, don't you think? ¤

So, I guess it was just part of the standard boilerplate telling me to bring those items next time. Thanks for the heads-up.🙂

Look, it probably isn't even about whether things changed since last time. It's about whether there is anything worth actually documenting on film in the first place.
