So, look, I’ve been on Yasmin for about five months now and honestly, I haven't had
any issues at all—no side effects or anything weird. My blood pressure is perfect, too, but
I’ve put on about 5 pounds, and I really want to drop around 15. My OB-GYN told me that if a woman gains
more than 10 pounds while on the pill, she shouldn't be using it anymore
(apparently it's some metabolic thing, blah blah, I don't know...)

But here's my question: what happens if a girl actually loses 10 pounds or more? Like, is it
actually possible to lose weight without feeling "scared" while on them, and can you just
keep taking them normally? I'm going to ask my doctor
at my next appointment, but I wanted to hear your thoughts and see if anyone has dealt with this.
Thanks 😉

Just kick back and let the pills do whatever they want...
but honestly, you won't get anywhere with that in the long run... you really have to commit to working out!

Are you talking about those weight loss pills? Because I
am actually talking about birth control 🙂
I think we had a bit of a misunderstanding here....
Look, I’ve been hitting the gym and eating clean, but
I’m curious if dropping more than 10 pounds makes any difference
when it comes to staying on the same dosage...

I don't see why they would. Pills don't make you fat on their own. You gain weight because they cause water retention and other crap. Though, according to a pamphlet I saw in my OBGYN's waiting room, Yasmin doesn't do that because it has some super-advanced ingredient. 😁 I don't see why you wouldn't be able to lose weight while on them.

Honestly, those birth control pills are amazing. You might notice your appetite ramping up during the first month, but
you can totally get that under control pretty quickly, and then it’s a solid 🙂
for me. 🙂I actually ended up putting on a few pounds myself because I couldn't stop snacking,
and now I’m at the point where I’d love to drop a few pounds—both for someone else and just for myself.
In my opinion, the pills shouldn't really cause any issues here.

Just because you’re taking Yasmin doesn't mean weight loss is off the table—if anything, maintaining a steady weight is ideal to minimize side effects.

Yasmin actually uses a specific type of progesterone—drospirenone—which helps prevent water retention. I’ve been on it for nine months now. While early studies suggested most women don't necessarily lose weight, but rather see a slight dip of less than two pounds, my weight stayed perfectly stable until winter hit—and now I'm carrying about six pounds of extra holiday weight that I'll likely shed over the next few weeks. That said, I have definitely noticed the lack of fluid retention; my fingers and breasts don't swell up like they used to before my cycle. For me, Yasmin has been more than fine.
