Top emo moment lately: tonight.

So, I went for a walk around the neighborhood and hiked up the hill to that one spot where you get a killer view of this stinky yet beloved city. Had Waits playing in my headphones—man, what a vibe. Then it just hit me... flash after flash... pure sentimentality. All these old scenes from my life started playing behind my eyes—faces of people who meant everything to me once, but aren't even part of my world anymore. It’s that creeping fear that all those moments are turning into nothing more than faded memories, like some old movie you saw ages ago. And then came the lump in my throat. It was inevitable. The tears just started falling. Honestly, thank god there weren't any regular dog walkers around, or they would've thought some bald guy with headphones sitting on a bench staring at the skyline was losing his damn mind.

Ngh... sipping on something light.

So, I headed out for a stroll through the neighborhood—decided to hike up the hill to that one spot where you get a killer view of this smelly yet somehow beloved city—and I had Waites' *In the Neighborhood* playing in my headphones... man, damn... and then, just like that... it all started... flashes of everything... pure sentimentality... images of every old situation that once meant the world to me began dancing before my eyes... the faces of people who used to be such a huge part of my life, but aren't anymore... and that creeping fear, that realization that all these things are slowly fading into nothing but pale memories... almost like a movie I watched a lifetime ago... and then it hit me... that tightness in the throat... it was inevitable... the tears just started flowing... honestly, it’s a good thing there weren't any typical dog walkers around, because they probably would have thought it was incredibly weird to see some shaved head sitting on a bench with headphones on, staring at the skyline and weeping...

ugh... currently sipping on something light...

Nursing home? It does that to people. 🙂

I had that exact same feeling about six months ago, actually, while listening to Rainy Night in Soho, tucked away in the warmth of my own home, and I didn't even end up breaking down in tears at the end of it.

Listening to this always leaves me feeling a bit nostalgic for the coast back home 🐟 🏖️ 🫒

But what are your thoughts on The Beach Boys - Sentimento?
It’s like an Italian fairy tale, isn't it? 😍

The way she interprets it feels almost cosmic, like something floating out there in deep space, yet at the same time it’s got this earthy, coastal vibe—sort of smelling of wild rosemary and tamarisk. 😍
