I caught this at the theater a few years back, and honestly, the cast is just phenomenal. Gibson and Milla are fantastic, and even the kid does an incredible job. It can be a bit of a slog because the pacing is pretty slow, but once you reach the end, you’ll find it was well worth the time. The soundtrack was put together by U2 and the MDH band. I’m not usually much of a U2 fan, but they definitely earned my respect with this one. The music plays such a vital role in the film, and it really is excellent. Oh, and Jimmy Smith and Bono both have roles in it. Jimmy is great, and when I was planning to go see it, everyone was making such a fuss about Bono’s acting. But if I can offer one piece of advice? Don't let that distract you. If you're into heavy, slightly disorienting dramas, you'll probably love it. Just don't go in with massive expectations, and you might find yourself wanting to watch it all over again. It's a solid piece of work—easily better than most of the big hits from 2009.

Watching how the light hits her face, I’d say we’re looking at a gray October day. It immediately brings back those perfectly cozy, chilly afternoons. I’ve always felt that the cold is actually the best setting for connection and romance; this movie really leaned into that feeling. It reminded me of my partner, specifically when he told me about this incredible film we just had to watch together. The soundtrack is incredibly soothing and romantic, and there’s something so intimate about those tiny, modest rooms we get a glimpse of. Sometimes I think I’d rather live a stripped-back life—someone at the bottom of the social ladder, perhaps—if it meant a life overflowing with genuine emotion and magic, rather than being some bored billionaire who can never tell if their friends are actually loyal or just after the bank account.
I have a deep appreciation for art, and this film is a work of art in every sense of the word (aside from the clunky dialogue from some of the side characters, though you can only blame the screenwriter for that)

Honestly, I’m with you on this one; I actually enjoyed it. I originally went in just to see Jeremy Davies, but the whole thing turned out to be a genuinely solid watch. The themes were right up my alley—I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for those messy, unstable characters—and the acting was top-notch. It might not be the greatest cinematic masterpiece I've ever laid eyes on, but it certainly didn't deserve the absolute drubbing it took from the critics. If I recall correctly, it’s sitting at a dismal 23% on Rotten Tomatoes, which feels way too harsh.☕

Anyway, is it just me, or does it feel like Jeremy Davies is basically playing the exact same character in every single movie he’s in?

Please, I'm clearly not the only crazy one here🤣

I thought I was the only one who felt like the cold was a total mood for romance...😁

Also, saw someone mention Bono because he pops up in the movie, like for maybe 15 seconds or something...😁

It feels a bit too pretentious, even for Wenders.

That’s just awful... Honestly, Warner Bros. has produced 4,759,609 better films than this.
