Zardoz and other ridiculous movies

I still remember seeing a clip on total film where Sean Connery was rocking this massive red diaper and a giant braid.👍 Honestly, it was a must see. I watched it and just lost it... hahahahahaha....

Either I’m just too unrefined to grasp the high art of that kind of surrealism, or that is hands down the worst movie ever made.

ajde setjeti—what is the absolute worst movie you've ever sat through? I don't mean just dumb or boring, I mean straight-up garbage. And I'm talking actual mainstream studio releases here, not some low-budget DIY project someone filmed in their garage.

I barely remember it—honestly. I only sat through it because I'm a die-hard Vonnegut fan, and let me tell you, it was a massive disappointment. They missed the mark on every single level possible. It didn't trigger disgust for me like it did for you, but I can certainly say I was pissed off.

It's basically Scientology served up as trashy sci-fi. Just pure uber-trash that cost like 70 million bucks to make. Honestly, if it had been a tiny indie flick, I wouldn't care so much, but for that kind of money? Yikes.

And then there's this absolute legend—honestly, the writers probably didn't even have half the pretentious artistic vision you'd find in something like Zardoz—it's Steel starring Shaquille O'Neal... hehehe... definitely championship material right there (though, let's be real, it's basically a DIY home movie... probably made in Shaq's garage)

Zardoz sits at the top of my list as arguably the most idiotic film ever made, though one cannot simply overlook the kung-fu masterpiece by Godfrey Hoa Geoffrey Laia. Additionally, the Turks did a rather lovely job with their version of Star Trek—which features Mr. Spock and a cat in boxer shorts acting as a test robot—alongside Commander Mark. Finally, Ed Wood's "planuti 9 fra Outer Space" would have been significantly more horrific if I hadn't felt such profound pity watching the absolute garbage this guy produced.

And man, Ed Wood... honestly, I haven't had the privilege of sitting through his actual movies... all I really know is based on that Burton movie about him... and it totally fits the vibe... it's just sad, but kinda funny at the same time😎

There’s a scene in Zardoz that really calls to mind The English Patient.
But that moment actually serves to "explain" Zardoz—assuming we aren't changing the thread title to THE WORST MOVIE EVER—so it feels like Britons can only truly grasp sci-fi if it's presented as a moral dilemma with theatrical overacting.
It’s just like how their detectives spend all their time blinking and sighing, while an American would just floor the gas in a muscle car or leap from the 15th floor...
