1. Minja subota
2. Minimaks
3. Oliver

Honestly, you can pretty much ignore the first two—but Oliver? That man is a total legend. I'd also throw Mića Orlović into that list—I still have this mental image of him sitting there in a crisp white leisure suit on the fender of a vintage white Mercedes W115—you know, the classic 220D... He looked just like freaking Tom Jones! 😁)

I still think that one from Mutual—the Wild Kingdom of Omaha series, or something like that—is legendary. He was always stepping in to rescue all sorts of little creatures.
A flood.
The deer is swimming toward the shore, slow but steady.
He leaps right out of the helicopter. To save an animal. Whether he actually needed to or not, I suppose.
Splash. Splash. A huge splat.
He’s wrestling with the deer. It’s not like some Superman feat where he lifts it and flies away, but hey, it's a documentary, so they use the helicopter to hoist it up.
And the man has dealt with everything: pythons, rhinos, bats, even mountain lions.

Yeah... honestly, I’m just fascinated... how an 80-year-old relic actually pulls all of this off 😲

Honestly, listening to music while reading just sucks for me—reading requires your full attention, I guess. Otherwise, you just end up wanting to chuck the book out the window. Especially if it's a serious read, of course.

I just can't manage that... there's never enough time in the day—plus, I suppose I'm a bit of a George Costanza myself😁

for instance, Paul McCartney's "Jenny Wren"

Man... is that album actually any good?🤔

Well... let me grab some glasses like Microsoft and Moss wear first—then you might actually see those emo gangs coming 😬

Because he’s actually good 😉 (even if his writing style drives me nuts, just the way he puts sentences together)

My woman.

Most annoying women on the American music scene:
1. Microsoft

Looking for one of their CDs? I can get you a deal—very cheap. 🤣

Hmm... I can't really judge someone's writing style through a translation. And since my French is non-existent, all I can say is that the translator did a decent enough job.

That is absolute nonsense!

It really just comes down to finding a bit of focus...

Translation isn't the same thing as style. 😉

Ponor said:What’s the point of music then?

Is it an extra layer of enjoyment? I'm not entirely sure, but I personally find that nothing beats getting lost in a good book, and music has never once felt like a distraction from that experience. It's likely just a matter of habit at this point, though there is almost always some kind of background melody playing in my house while I'm settling in...

Ponor said:What’s the point of music, then?

Well—it’s pretty much always playing in the background anyway, isn't it? 😳

Dead Carrot said:The style shifts once you move into translation. 😉

Exactly... though even subtle changes happen because the translator's voice—or just the mechanics of the target language—inevitably bleeds through. That’s why I’ll always lean toward quotes from the "original" work whenever possible.
🙂
