Straight to the police station, because the cops showed up pretty damn fast. 😁

Holy Fakin' Molly! 😲

What a massive concert!!! 👍

Note bene: I’ve never been one for flowery praise, and I wouldn't call myself some hardcore, soaked n' sick Waits fanatic, but this was easily one of the (subjectively speaking) best gigs I've ever been to. 🙏

The groove was insane, what a total nightmare, such a majestic nightmare wrapped in smoke and vodka-soaked Love...
with a little drop of poison 😍

And that red accordion player on the verge of tears!?? I have never, ever seen a more authentic or endearing stage parable! Honestly, a few times I just wanted to jump up there and kiss him right on that damp, wild, Russian face! 🙂

And you, Walter Foster52, are you seriously trying to be controversial in such a consistently dull way?
If trashing this band is your way of trying to separate yourself from yesterday's mindless masses, all I can say is you're well on your way to feeling very, very "special." 😉

He said "tragical culmination doesn't always lead to death" 😉 😁

but that's just like... my opinion, man. 😳 😁

Back to the topic at hand; the guitarist was actually a perfect fit for that specific band, given his over-the-top theatrics and the whole vibe of that particular moment and space. 👍

The one thing I truly never expected was for Billy to be having marital issues 🙄 They met back when they were busking on the streets of Berlin, and some two broads stood there listening, liked what they heard, and he invited them back to a party and all that usual nonsense
Basically, the man enjoys his drinks, obviously. Everything was fine while she was still living in Berlin, but once they got close and she moved in with him, well, what else is a woman supposed to do besides nag? 😁 She started lecturing him about drinking too much, telling him he shouldn't stumble when he walks, and all that other mindless drivel
And now he’s dealing with that, just like any self-respecting drunk would 😁 Since he can't stay sober all the time anyway, he decided to start smoking, and he actually turned it into an advantage. He drinks his beers more slowly when he gets stoned so he can actually savor them. Plus, he’s lucky enough to travel constantly, which lets him sample different brews, and he loves wandering through unfamiliar cities to find inspiration. He claims that simply walking allows him to catch a rhythm in his stride, and then the melodies just come to him 😁 When he heads home to his girl, he writes those melancholy love songs, but when he's somewhere without a woman, he produces something much harder 😁
Now, as for how we used to smoke that crap. We smuggled it across the border hidden in the guitarist's mouth because, as he put it, there are plenty of easy targets at the airport in St. Petersburg 🤣
Essentially, you wrap the shit in foil, light it from underneath, and inhale through a tube. There’s no tobacco in it, and he insists that’s healthier since he’s a doctor 🤣
And I have to say, that Tom Waits stuff hits incredibly hard. The man is truly legendary 🙏

Nah. I'm way too old for those games. It doesn't bother me one bit when someone hates what I like—looks like that's your problem. I just didn't care for it, so I said so without attacking anyone. I have the right to my opinion, just like you have the right to be obsessed. Even if that whole Frankenstein definition of yours meant something halfway stupid...

Before the show even started, he was hunting down olive oil 😕
Then, after we finally tracked some down at 10 PM, he just snorted it right up 😕
Claims it’s his way of clearing out the sinuses 😁

Claims it’s his little trick for clearing out the sinuses. 😁

They’ve even started pushing stuff like that at some of those high-end wellness centers over here—sinus cleansing with oils and whatnot. 🤔

I’m really not sure if that’s something I’d ever want to try... 😁

I really doubt it’ll do any harm—so go ahead and give it a shot 😉 (and let us know how it goes 😬 )

Man, I was actually shocked by how many upbeat people showed up. When they kicked off the first song and the crowd just erupted—man, what a vibe.

Don't get me wrong, I would’ve loved more Waitsian tracks, but their own stuff hits pretty hard too. That specific Russian gloom mixed with that Waits sadness? That’s the real deal right there. 😁 😁

And look, sure, the Russians might have lifted from Waits, but are we totally certain Waits didn't lift from them? I mean, that accordion sound he uses... sounds straight-up Russian to me.

That’s honestly why The Beach Boys sounded so killer. All three of them are legends. That guitarist who acts like he's playing for The Who is awesome. The accordion player—that legit Russian piano guy with the bald head and the little patch of hair in the middle—is top tier. And Billy, obviously.

Just a one-of-a-kind feeling. 👍

I just didn't particularly care for it, so I said so without attacking anyone personally. I have as much right to my opinion as you have the right to be thrilled by it. Even if that Frankenstein-esque definition of yours actually meant something, however blunt it was...

No. I'm actually far too young to be offended by being labeled as having an 'old man' mindset.😉
Take it however you want, but I also have every right to disagree with your disagreement regarding the rather complicated conclusion that the concert was some kind of legendary experience.

dr. Frankenstein; "oh my God, I've created an Old man" 😲

But look, it definitely was. I'd be an idiot to trash something that clearly hit home for so many people. It would be stupid to say anything about their musical skill, which is undeniable. I just wanted to point out that, somehow, the chemistry just wasn't there for me. Maybe I was just in a bad mood, who knows? I even tried some vodka to help, but no luck (per $5.25, bless their hearts). Even in my first post, I mentioned I was probably the only one who didn't vibe with the show. I was with three girls who mostly spoke Russian, and they loved it—though even they admitted that besides the occasional language slip, it was hard to tell the band was from Russia. That shouldn't really be a flaw, actually, but I guess I was expecting it. Anyway, they kindly warned me it was like a Russian Tom Waits (which is a total Frankenstein creation), but I wasn't listening. You can't blame me... cheers to you all, my friends.👋

They don't look like the ones from a comic book—the lighting in Aquarius is a bit off, honestly. It's way too blue, purple, and green all at once, so everything just looks kind of sickly 😁.

Maybe KSET wouldn't pack as many people as Aquarius, but honestly—I think the vibe would’ve been a hundred times wilder and more high-energy (plus, grabbing a beer is way easier when you aren't waiting on a $5.00 line). And the stage is just closer to the crowd, too.
I will give them one thing, though: Aquarius has much better ventilation, so the temperature stayed perfectly comfortable.
Anyway, the show was incredible. Sure, they’re basically clones of Tom Waits—but does that really matter when you're having such a blast?😕

Austin Parker4 said:While KSET might not hold quite as many people as Aquarius did, I’m convinced the energy would have been infinitely more intense and upbeat, especially since grabbing a beer before $5.00 is much easier than waiting until later. Plus, the stage actually feels closer to the crowd.
The only thing I'll concede is that Aquarius has superior ventilation, which kept the temperature perfectly comfortable.
Regardless, the concert was absolutely phenomenal; sure, they might be somewhat reminiscent of Tom Waits, but does that really stop you from having an incredible time?😕

Honestly, the vibe at Aquarius was just depressing, like being at a funeral.
What an absolute moron 🙂 Screw KSET

Look, buddy, if you're broke, maybe try hanging out in front of a Walmart instead of going to shows.

Ugh, I can't stand people who act all bitter just because they're broke...

😁 😁 😁 😁
