Winter babies might be more prone to sleep issues
People born in the winter months could be twice as likely to struggle with sleep disorders compared to those born during other seasons, according to Fan Dongsheng, a sleep specialist at a university in Beijing. He noted that about 40% of his 700 patients were born in November, December, or January. Meanwhile, those born in the spring, summer, or fall made up about 20% of his patient group each. Fan suggests that fetuses might be more sensitive to external stimuli during the winter months before birth, and he believes those prenatal experiences could have a negative impact on their long-term sleeping habits.
