Which email client can handle this?

I am looking for an email client that can run seamlessly in the background—essentially, I need something that stays active constantly and provides both audible and visual notifications the moment a new email arrives.
I have experimented with several different options, but I seem to run into technical hurdles with every single one of them.
To give you some context:
DreamMail simply refuses to accept my Hotmail or Yahoo accounts; it keeps insisting that I manually configure certain POP protocols first.
OperaMail is being just as difficult, demanding those same POP settings.
The only application that actually managed to auto-configure everything without any fuss was Mozilla Thunderbird, but unfortunately, it lacks the capability to operate quietly in the background.
It brings to mind a specific, fantastic program I installed about 10 or 15 years ago—I believe it even had the word POP right in its name—which handled all the automatic configurations itself and worked perfectly in the background.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a client that would actually meet my requirements?

POP3 belongs in the history books, and honestly, we should phase it out ASAP.

There’s a Thunderbird plugin for that. Honestly, you can do just about anything with Thunderbird once you minimize it to the tray—it's quite the powerhouse

I went ahead and downloaded that plugin from here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...otray-revived/
I installed it directly into Thunderbird, but I'm stumped—I don't see any option under the tools menu to actually make it minimize to the system tray.

IncrediMail is just sitting there in the system tray, throwing alerts at me...

Just head over to the Add-ons Manager in Thunderbird—you'll find it right there—and then you can go ahead and configure all your options...

It’s working perfectly now. Honestly—I don't even really get what the issue was with configuring the POP server in the first place... 🤷 Set it up once—and you're basically good for life... 🤷

Well, I finally have it running—it’s sitting right there in the system tray—but now I’ve run into a different issue.
I went into the settings and made sure to enable these specific options:
When new messages arrive:
Show an alert
Show a tray icon
Play a sound

Just to test things out, I sent myself a few emails—using various different accounts—but I haven't received a single notification, whether visual or audio, to let me know mail has arrived (it's been over 10 minutes now).
To actually check my inbox, I find myself having to manually open Thunderbird and click "get messages" every single time.
If the program isn't actually notifying me automatically when new mail hits my account, then what is the point of having it running in the background at all?

But I already mentioned that IncrediMail absolutely refuses to accept my Hotmail account—even after I followed every single instruction to the letter!
I’ve entered all the necessary credentials for my email (whether it's Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.), yet I am constantly hit with this message: logon failed—and I am certain my username and password are correct, as I've double-checked them myself.

She’s absolutely right—I completely misspoke and wrote DreamMail when I clearly meant IncrediMail. My apologies!
So, here is the situation: I installed the firetray add-on in Thunderbird, and finally, it seems to be working—when I close Thunderbird, it retreats to the system tray and sends me those much-needed notifications when new mail arrives. However, there is still a lingering issue—whenever I restart my computer (or just boot it up for the day), Thunderbird isn't sitting there in the system tray waiting for me; I have to manually launch the program myself.
Does anyone know if there is a way to ensure it stays in the system tray automatically right after Windows boots up?

Good grief, it seems as though nobody has any clue how to resolve this particular issue.

Look, I'm certainly no tech wizard who can just troubleshoot complex issues on my own.
That is exactly why I am turning to this community for some guidance.
To reiterate my original question: "Is there any way to keep Thunderbird running constantly in the system tray and have it launch automatically whenever I boot up Windows?"

Just add it to the startup list.

Well, I just tried adding a shortcut for Thunderbird into the startup folder—as suggested—but wouldn't you know it? After a full reboot of my PC, there is still absolutely nothing showing up in the systray.
