I just wiped out on my bike about half an hour ago—super clumsy move. I took a direct hit to my lower abdomen, right around my belly button and ovaries, because I slammed straight into the handlebars. For about ten minutes, I was completely paralyzed by the pain and couldn't even move. Once the initial shock wore off, I managed to get back on my feet and limp my way home. Am I looking at any serious long-term issues from a hit like this, like internal bleeding or something? How would I even know if that's happening? It felt exactly like being punched hard in the gut by someone. My hands are still shaking.

You feeling any better? Honestly, those shaky hands are probably just an adrenaline crash from being freaked out, not the fall itself. Same thing happened to me when I wiped out a couple weeks ago—I was trembling for hours after.

As for the fall, just head to the ER. People go in for way less than that.

I really hope you went to see a doctor, because those kinds of hits can be pretty serious if you don't get them checked out.
Good luck, 🙂

Man, I totally wiped out on my skateboard one day right near the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 😢

I seriously almost ended up eating asphalt for breakfast. 😢
