Not really. It’s just going to leave kids frustrated because they have a computer but can't actually play anything on it... For $667, there's honestly no smart way to handle kids using laptops. A tablet or an Android device works fine, sure, but laptops? Not happening.

I figured as much. Who would be crazy enough to settle for those kinds of specs? It feels like they're just desperate to get rid of them...

It’s just not happening. These weak dual-core Celeron chips are a joke... and as far as graphics go, that ancient integrated chip gets a zero from me if you actually want to play anything.

At least look for an N2940, N3540, or a 3825U—something with at least 2 cores/4 threads, or ideally 4 cores...

And honestly, stay far away from any AMD Pentium or Snapdragon chips too.

If they’re just using it for Skype or maybe browsing a single tab without running anything else in the background, it'll do the job. But if you want anything more than that? You should probably look into the processors darkowl72 mentioned.

So, regarding the processor—is it actually going to be an issue if I go with an Intel Pentium? Just a heads-up, I’m definitely not an expert here, so please forgive me if I’m asking something totally basic! I'm working with a pretty tight budget, so I'm really trying to make every cent count. Honestly, I just need it for basic office stuff and browsing the web. If it can handle some light Photoshop work without totally crashing, that would be a huge bonus!

For basic everyday stuff, all you really care about is having four cores, which both of these have... anything beyond that is just extra noise... 🤷

The first one (Dell) is a pretty solid deal since it comes with Windows pre-installed, just make sure you realize it’s a 14" screen instead of 15.6".

Thanks so much! Yeah, I didn't really look closely at the monitor size, but I think this should be plenty for my basic needs.
