The Mediterranean diet actually helps you live longer
Eating the Mediterranean diet doesn't just boost your health—it adds years to your life. That's what a recent study published yesterday in the New England Journal of Medicine found. Researchers looked at 75,000 Europeans over age 60 and saw huge benefits from a diet packed with fruits, veggies, legumes, whole grains, fish, and olive oil, while cutting back on dairy, saturated fats, and meat. You see the biggest lifespans in places like Greece and Spain where this way of eating is most common, thanks to all those antioxidants like vitamins A and C that fight off cell damage. Who wouldn't want that?

And what exactly am I supposed to take from that?😕

Are we really going to pretend that greasy pork rinds are some kind of culinary upgrade just because they bypass the whole fish-to-pig ratio?
Come on, do us all a favor and copy-paste something actually worth reading...

Why all the hostility? This is actually a conversation worth having; I’m all for any discussion centered on eating better.
It’s pretty fascinating how the principles of the Mediterranean diet are steadily becoming the gold standard for food pyramids everywhere, essentially being adopted by nutritionists globally as local staples become easy to find in any grocery store. And now that healthcare costs have absolutely skyrocketed 🙄

During the second national internal medicine conference held in Palm Springs, the American Obesity Society was officially established.

At the convention, experts raised the alarm that nearly half of all Americans are overweight—though, interestingly enough, Dalmatians tend to carry more extra weight on average than Slavonians.

They really need to get their act together; they constantly release information that contradicts whatever they said just before this.

they really need to get their stories straight—it seems like they're constantly releasing statements that contradict what they said just before...

You have to remember that hardly anyone eats a balanced diet these days—for all sorts of different reasons, justified or not—since more and more people are living on junk food. That’s likely why you see such contradictory claims.
Still, the idea that a Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest options—perhaps the absolute best—remains true.

Modern-day Dalmatians aren't exactly living the dream of the Mediterranean diet; they'd much rather feast on lamb, cheese, prosciutto, and sausages than touch a piece of Swiss chard.😉
