I’m currently living in Moscow, where a monthly gym membership runs about $100 to $150. There is one specific fitness center here where a single drop-in session is $30—which is basically 25 Federal Reserve units—but it's a Michael Jordan style facility with a pool, so honestly, the price is quite reasonable...

I was wondering what the typical cost for an annual or monthly gym membership looks like in Washington, D.C.?

Also, which types of sports or fitness trends are currently popular in America? Is it more towards Tai Chi, Yoga, aerobics, or perhaps something else entirely?

Thank you for the assistance.🙂

I’m thinking you’re looking at maybe $30 to $50 a month in Washington, D.C.
Forget about having access to a pool or anything fancy like that 🙂

Not sure what actually catches your eye, but they're really pushing squash right now

Around here in Des Moines, most gyms charge about 100 bucks a month.$53

But seriously, what do you mean by asking which sport is "in"? Like, do people actually pick a sport just because it’s trendy? I don't get it. I think people should just do whatever they actually enjoy, whatever makes them feel good. From my perspective, I don't even buy shoes just because they're "in," so why would I pick a sport based on popularity? Still, I see it all the time at the gym—people who are clearly just there to be seen. They show up to look cool, chat for half an hour, strut around a little, do maybe half their workout, and then walk out feeling like they totally nailed the trend.

When I say "in," I am referring to those sports that are actively marketed—the ones you see all those trendy women discussing when they talk about attending Tai Chi classes or similar activities. For instance, back in the day, breakdancing was considered quite popular... what I am truly curious about is what exactly is being heavily promoted here in America today... (though, admittedly, breakdancing might not be the most accurate comparison...)

Your prices seem perfectly reasonable in Des Moines (which is actually a pretty decent place...)

Take care👋
