I read somewhere that alternating between hot and cold water in the shower is supposed to be some kind of health hack. Does anyone actually know why people claim this works, or are you guys actually doing this at home?

Here is my amateur take on the matter:
Alternating between hot and cold water causes your blood vessels to dilate and constrict, which ultimately boosts circulation.
No, I don't actually practice this method... unless my water heater decides to malfunction and give me a heart attack mid-shower (which usually results in skipped beats and some rather unrefined vocalizations).

Once I work up the nerve 😁 I’ll do it, but strictly on foot. Circulation issues and bad veins make anything else out of the question.

I haven't come across that specific routine before. From what I've gathered, using colder water can actually help boost circulation

I honestly don't have the patience to constantly fiddle with the shower handle just to get the temperature right. 😵 During the summer, my routine is basically starting with warm water and then cranking up the cold every five minutes just to catch a quick wave of refreshment. But by the end, I’ve been in there for over half an hour—it's ridiculous! At this rate, my skin is practically going to start growing scales. 😬

I mean, if someone's heart actually stops, they’re gonna need circulation anyway, right? 😁

I’ve been sticking to this whole hot-cold shower routine for about 15 years now, and honestly, I can’t even picture stepping into the shower without it—especially that final, brutal blast of ice-cold water to wrap things up 👍

I can’t really wrap my head around what life would be like if I didn't do this, but hey, the results speak for themselves: zero cellulite, great skin (and let’s face it, 😬), and that cold shock actually warms me up from the inside out, so I’m never shivering when I step out of the tub, even during those brutal American winters. Plus, the contrast just hits the reset button on my mood and wakes me right up... I don't know, I'm just happy with it. I genuinely don't understand how anyone survives without it 😁

I manage fine without it, honestly. I don't need it to live my life.😁 I’m always freezing anyway, so I usually just mess around with the shower temperature until I hit my limit.
I love hot water.😁 😁
Now I'm actually shivering just thinking about it.
