What software are you using for CD burning?

Nero Burning ROM version 5.5.9.9 bundled together... honestly, it's just fine for those users who don't want to deal with any real complexity, but why even bother with all that junk when I've got this absolute gem of a freeware called CDBurnerXP Pro sitting right here on my drive?
but if you're looking for something a bit more specialized, like a custom blend of oils...π¬

Building from Source
Initially, you must ensure all dependencies are met (refer to the requirements page). At a minimum, the Qt and kdelibs development packages must be installed.
To ensure the audio player functions correctly, the kdemultimedia development package is required.
For MP3 decoding capabilities, you will need to install libmad.
For FLAC decoding and encoding support, please install the FLAC++ libraries and headers.
Download the source files from the K3b download page (for instance: k3b-0.11.10.tar.bz2)
Extract the source code into a temporary directory:
tar -xjvf k3b-0.11.10.tar.bz2
Then, navigate into the newly created directory:
cd k3b-0.11.10
Configure the source:
./configure
(With earlier versions of the software, specifying a prefix was necessary, but the modern KDE build system typically identifies this automatically.)
Once the configuration process concludes, you will be presented with a summary. If any features you require are listed as disabled, I suggest revisiting the requirements list.
Begin the compilation process:
make
Provided the previous command completes without error, proceed with the installation:
su -c "make install"
(You will be prompted for your root password.)
You can now launch the application via the Multimedia section of the KMenu, or simply execute 'k3b' through a terminal or the Alt-F2 menu.

no? and what's the issue? π
Not really an issue.
The trouble was more with the old versionβit used to start off like this:
Chapter 1. "How to build a PC."
Chapter 2. "Building a CD/RW drive to run our software."
As for compiling the actual software, that was tucked away at the end.
