My PC was running fine until recently. Now, the fans start revving up loud, and instead of the usual single beep, I’m getting a bunch of them. I tried reseating the RAM and cleaning out all the dust, but after playing around with it for a while, I finally realized something. Whenever this happens, if I just pull the GPU out and plug it back in, everything works perfectly again.

Given how things are going, I'm guessing there's an issue with the graphics card. It's still weird, though—once I reseat it, the computer boots up like nothing ever happened.

It’s happening every single day now.

The card is a GeForce GTX 560 Ti.

Here’s what it sounds like:

So, what's the deal with this record?

I’ve been there—had a hard drive act up exactly like that once. I ended up just pulling it out, giving it a quick cleaning, and popping it back in; everything went back to running smoothly after that.

Could you walk me through how you cleaned it? Do you mean you actually opened the casing up to clean the internals?

I mean, you’ve gotta grease the wheels every once in a while...

Well, when the disc gets grimey on the inside... a simple toothbrush and some WD-40 can work wonders.

I have spent some time poking around that site regarding the various beep codes... you mentioned receiving a 2-8-1 sequence, but since I could find nothing quite like that, I ended up testing a 2-4-4-1 pattern on a Phoenix BIOS instead. It seems the underlying issue points toward a "set up hardware interrupts vector" error. Might I suggest that Google be your closest ally here? Perhaps a bit of targeted searching on 😁
might yield the clarity we need.

A little bit of chaos, then you'll see. 👍
