Dealing with sticky nasal mucus

I’ve been battling chronic sinus issues and this endless, sticky nasal congestion my entire life.
The doctors—of course—haven't offered much beyond basic nasal sprays.
I’ve been relying on those drops every single day for YEARS just to maintain some semblance of breathing...
My nose is constantly running; I go through boxes of tissues non-stop, and if it isn't coming out the front, it’s just draining down the back of my throat into my stomach.🙄
I am NOT interested in seeing a specialist, I don't want any "quick fixes" from a pharmacy🙂 and I certainly don't want sinus surgery—nothing of the sort.
Does anyone know of a home remedy, a natural way, anything at all... please...😢

Don't stop, you aren't doing yourself any favors. Try steaming, either with some drugstore stuff or just plain old chamomile.
Use a saline spray like Ocean or something similar—it does basically the same thing for clearing you out as an actual inhaler would. There are even those little pocket inhalers you can grab.
For me, a nasty propolis-based nasal spray was a lifesaver. Yeah, it feels like you're shoving a cactus up your nose, but it works.🙂

But seriously, why does that sticky stuff just keep running out of my nose? Maybe I’m getting this wrong or totally misread what you were saying, but honestly, I was dealing with the exact same constant drainage until just a few years ago. It felt like a never-ending cycle: sinus issues in the fall, sinus issues in the summer, then autumn hits and it’s just a revolving door of colds and sinus infections... plus all those annoying little aches and pains. Then, after years of me constantly using sprays and everything else under the sun, one doctor just told me, dead serious, that I actually have allergies. To something. Or maybe everything. But that’s not really the point right now. The point is that once I started taking an allergy pill, the whole thing changed. No more endless nasal sprays, no more messing with drops, no more constant rinsing. And don't even get me started on that hacking cough first thing in the morning because all that "sticky" stuff settles deep while I'm sleeping through the night...
If I were in your shoes, I’d head straight to a clinic for some allergy testing.

What if you aren't actually allergic to anything and that's why you're always runny?
My ex had the exact same issues. I made him see an ENT twice, and he kept claiming it wasn't "work-related." But even now, he still can't breathe right and his nose won't stop running.

It might be so-called subbronchial syndrome. Maybe ask your doctor about it.

Went to see my doctor—they say it's allergies, but honestly, that doesn't sit right with me since this has been dragging on for a whole freaking year.
I used to rely on nasal sprays so heavily that I was basically addicted; if I didn't dose myself every eight hours on the dot, I felt like a total zombie.
Then I finally tried to kick the habit. It was barely 😁

I tried allergy pills too, but they seem to just dry out your nasal passages, which brings me right back to square one: a stuffed-up nose!

I've already gone through that process and I know exactly what triggers me.
Though, honestly... I probably should go back. My last round of testing was fourteen years ago, followed by five years of immunotherapy, but things change over time... I really ought to get tested again, especially since my Claritin isn't doing the trick like it used to...
