Fortunately, I don't go through packs too quickly because I have this habit of chewing just half a piece at a time, then tucking the other half back into the wrapper (and no, I’m not biting them—I just break them in half). It’s the only way I can manage without my jaw aching from chewing a full piece. I've been loyal to Orbit White for years now.

I’d really love to kick this habit because, let’s be honest, I chew like a cow, and it isn't exactly a pretty sight. But I have this nagging fear that if I stop, I’ll just pick up cigarettes again. Or start biting my nails even harder. Or, heaven forbid, come up with something even worse to do with my hands.

Well, welcome to the club... You’ve definitely found the right crowd... We can't exactly offer any solutions, since we're all just as lost as you are, but we're more than happy to share a piece of gum with you along the way... 😁 😉

Hey everyone!

I'm Nick, and I am a total gum addict. I easily go through two packs of Orbit a day.
I've actually had some pretty awkward moments thanks to my habit. A few times I've fallen asleep with gum in my mouth, only to wake up and find it stuck in my hair! I’ve been chewing since I was a little kid, back before there were even things like
Orbit or other sugar-free options. Does anyone else remember the old days of Bazooka or Baluba? Or those classic gums that came in those little little boxes with free stickers inside—kind of like how Star Wars cards used to come? They were even packaged like little cigarette packs...

...man, Softy, you shove half the pack in your mouth and suddenly you can't even close your jaw. Then you're stuck with those tiny little strips or those gross, colorful little round ones...

Nick, welcome to the Forum and the Red Cross 🎉

Hi, I’m frozenpilot2, and I’ve been hooked since I was five years old.
I’ve swallowed more than my fair share: my favorites used to be those C-brand gums and Bazooka—honestly, if the sugar in those doesn't kill you, nothing will.
My top picks? The kid-friendly Orbit (the pink kind) and those black Airwavs—they really clear out the bronchi. Pure bliss.

I also have a weakness for Chupa Chups lollipops, but only the fruit flavors. Sometimes I feel a bit embarrassed eating them; I mean, what kind of grown woman sits there licking a lollipop? I feel like I'm practically inviting some maniac to come flirt with me.
I’m pretty sure I just have an oral fixation. (And please, no sexual undertones intended here)
I actually take pride in the fact that I’m chewing gum for half the day. Besides, it keeps my jawline looking incredible...

Haha... I am definitely not an addict. *The crowd erupts into boos and jeers.* 😁

I don't smoke... though I suppose my Orbit Peppermint gum serves as my version of cigarettes.

There is absolutely NO CHANCE that I would ever step foot outside without having a pack on me; it’s just simply not how I operate.

And if it ever does happen, it's only because I just stepped out the door and I'm already on my way to the local 7-Eleven to grab more. 😁

Honestly... I’ve probably had at least one pack on me every single day since... uhh... 🤔...1997... 😲

God willing, I could have been loaded if I hadn't spent everything on 😬

Everyone on this forum is just a bunch of addicts😁 😲

I suppose I should admit that I was also addicted to gum (Orbit) back in high school, though, thank God, I managed to kick the habit entirely on my own. I don't recall the exact turning point... it seems I simply started spending less and less money on it over time. Currently, I have some yellow Fisherman’s Friend lemon lozenges at home, but even those are becoming a rare occurrence😎

Not to mention, I used to be quite dependent on chocolate, Coca-Cola, and various other sweets... nowadays, I barely touch carbonated drinks at all. Honestly, I've grown somewhat repulsed by chocolate, especially after learning about its potential impact on liver health. The only addiction I haven't been able to shake just yet is coffee☕ 🙂...that might be a hard habit to break, but I am certainly glad to have escaped those other temptations😁

Best of luck to anyone else trying to resist these kinds of lures👍 👋

Our elementary school PE teacher actually suggested that we girls should chew gum more often.
Obviously, we have to be discreet about it—not like we're some cows out in a pasture!
She claimed it’s a great way to tone those facial muscles. Honestly, guys get to work on their jawlines every single morning with shaving, so why shouldn't we get a little workout too?

So, ladies, take her advice: grab some gum!

Right now, I am totally hooked on Wrigley's Big Red and Orbit Peppermint.

Hey there, I'm velvetwolf92, and honestly, I used to be totally addicted to chewing gum. It was mostly Orbit, though I can't quite remember which specific flavor. I was going through an entire pack every single day, even though I wasn't actually chewing much—just holding a piece in my mouth for a few minutes at a time. I’d usually pop two pieces in at once.
Eventually, I started looking into homeopathy to help me kick the habit, and just like that, everything sweet was gone—bye-bye! 😢 It didn't matter if it had actual sugar or just artificial sweeteners... I was done. And look at me now, I haven't touched a piece of gum in over a year. But, I guess the trade-off is that I'm constantly lugging a toothbrush around everywhere I go. 😛 👎 😠

Honestly, I’m officially joining the gum addicts club.
I swear, I don't even leave the house without them.
And honestly? I am totally fine with that.
If anything, it’s like a little workout for my jaw, plus I'm basically burning calories while I chew.😁
Plus, there’s zero chance of having random food bits stuck in my teeth when I'm out and about.
And let's be real, I don't exactly smell like a brewery when I finally stumble through the door at five in the morning.
So yeah, if you ask me, it's all upside if you ask me...😁

I don't chew gum. Hi there. 🙂

Me neither... I just don't... ever chew gum.

Honestly, even thinking about it makes me feel on edge.

Addict. And not even a little one. 😁

Anyway, I go with Orbit, light blue plus sweet mint.

When did I admit I was an addict? Every time I looked at photos from skiing trips or even old greeting cards, my jaw was constantly moving... honestly, it wasn't a great look.

The only thing I realized was that I don't chew when I'm at home, though that's not always true.

What actually works for therapy? 🙄
