Just finished watching it. Honestly, the movie is flawless. The dialogue feels so incredibly real—it’s like eavesdropping on actual conversations happening right around you, only in English (you know, those kinds of insane, nonsensical questions that only ever pop into your head when you've had a few drinks). The fact that it was shot on a budget actually makes it more believable; it has this raw, organic quality that most modern blockbusters completely lack because they look so manufactured and fake. This wasn't some sanitized family flick designed for grandmas, grandpas, toddlers, and parents to sit through together on a Sunday afternoon; it’s a real movie where the language is filthy, the humor is unapologetic, and everything hits hard and brutal.

We wrapped #clerks3 just before midnight last night. What had once been a whimsical wish is now rooted in reality—and Dante, Randal, Becky, Elias, and @jayandsilentbob all have new shit to say for the first time in over a decade! In what’s about as personal a movie as I’ve made, we watch our heroes grapple with their own mortality by embracing art. art changed * my * Life - sol IT ’ sa only fair art enhances The lives of my favorit fictional Characters as well. Our little ode to the healing Power of creation in The faca of destruction tastes like a Pork roll — basically a #cinemaparadiso — all because our cast and crew crafted as fine a motion picture as I’ve ever been involved with! not only did i get to make a movie this Summer, i also Got to waltz down Memory lan behind The counter AT @quickstopgroceries! For the first time in nearly 30 years, I was in and out of the refurbished RST Video store and my beloved bodega, both restored to their 90’s greatness! @jordanmonsanto and @destrofilms made my dreams come true again, as they and the cast and crew set a table at which I feasted. They dreamed my dream for me, so now my dream is real. @briancohalloran, #jeffanderson, @rosariodawson, #trevorfehrman, @austinzajur, @jenschwalbach, @marilynghigliotti — they all did some career-best work in this flick! @jaymewes, too, takes Jay back to his geek chorus roots, and has some of my favorite moments in any of our movies! @learan shot for us a beautiful motion picture and blew his work on #chasingamy and The Flying Car out of The water , while Our vigilant Covid Cops managed to keep any infections off our set! Thes fin folks and All The others on The film actually * made * Clerks ii; I just kinda watched, giggled a ton, and counted my blessings while they did it. The Fog ” Shero wrote a message on The blackboard in The @philadelphiaflyers locker room The year They won The Stanley Cup : “ Win Together today and WE Walk Together Forever. It’s a beautiful collection of words that I’ve always adored: a promise of camaraderie wrapped in immortality. By any measure, through the act of creating Clerks III, we have won — so our walk together forever starts today! #KevinSmith

The film is top-tier. 👍
For what it's worth, I spent last year reviewing every single motion picture featuring Jay and Silent Bob.

Clerks
Mallrats
Chasing Amy
Dogma
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Clerks II
Jay & Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
🙏

Clerks is basically a flawless movie.

The sequel is total garbage.

I mean, maybe a third one could be alright, but honestly, I don't really care.

A documentary is dropping about him—and how it all kicked off with the making of Clerks.

The trailer just dropped—it’s a bit underwhelming, honestly; nothing really grabs you one way or the other.

Clerks is absolute perfection from start to finish. I honestly tried to power through the sequel, but after about ten minutes, I just had to give up because it felt so poorly executed and, frankly, pretty mindless. At this point, I don't think I'll be giving a third installment a chance either, mostly because I feel like Kevin Smith is starting to get on my nerves just a little bit too much.

The first installment is an absolute legend, though I honestly can't recall much about the second one. As for the third, I'll probably give it a watch if it happens to pop up on TV sometime.

The movie is super tight on a technical level—honestly a masterclass in how to make something great out of next to nothing—but I just couldn't get into it where it matters most, the dialogue. For me, it should’ve been witty or at least thought-provoking for a 15-year-old.

Which one? A new release?

I stuck it out until the end of the second one, but man, it really is bottom-of-the-barrel stuff...

Even if you don't count it as a sequel to a cult classic, it would still be a total dud as a standalone comedy...

The trailer for the third one looks alright, though...

The first one—obviously—the title literally says Clerks 1994.
