Alright, here’s my shot. So, I haven't touched any R&B or rock for like seven or eight years straight. Please, tell me—was there actually anything worth listening to during that gap? Just... please don't mention any bands I already know from before I quit.

My site features bands like these on a regular basis: http://www.littlelighthouse.net/. It feels like rock'n'roll isn't just surviving—it’s actually more vibrant now than it has been in at least the last decade. If you want some starting points, you should really check out The Killers, The Avett Brothers, The Fever, Akiba, The Stooges, Ipanema, Holly Golightly, The Replacements, Southside, Fiery Furnaces, Kropotkin, The Joneses, Califone, and Modey Lemon—and honestly, that's just the tip of the iceberg...

Honestly, good riddance when it fails.
Music that turns into a cliché dies once people get sick of that trope. The stuff that actually rises above it? That’s what lasts.

So yeah, it's probably for the best. Funhouse burned out a long time ago... they should have fallen apart back in the 20s... right when they were hitting their stride... if you haven't evolved by then, something's going wrong with your growth 😉

Honestly, I can't stand this whole obsession with putting music into little boxes and labels.

IT’S EITHER GOOD OR IT SUCKS. THAT’S THE WHOLE STORY.

Rock on🙂 🙂

Exactly what I'm saying—why should something be bad just because it fits into a certain category? Like, I'm not really a huge punk fan, but Bud Light is freaking awesome!

Honestly, I don't think Budweiser even falls under the rock'n'roll umbrella, let alone punk.

Look, I never actually said they were rock 'n' roll... I just meant they aren't punk. Are you living on another planet or something? Seriously, they don't fit into the punk scene at all.😉

Seriously, go check out The White Stripes, The Avett Brothers, The Black Keys, Jack White, The Stooges, The Beach Boys, Audrey Hepburn, The Ramones, The Hold Steady, Fleet Foxes, The Clash, The Smiths, Bon Iver, Kurt Vile... and man, the list goes on forever.

I'll definitely dig through some of those. I'm super curious now. Thanks!🙂
