...not sure if there's already a thread about them, but...
so, what's the word? anyone actually listen to them, or what do you guys think???
...personally, I love 'em!! Walking on a Thin Line is a total legend! (okay, maybe not an all-time classic, but still... 😁 )

I’m probably out of my depth here, but since nobody else seems to be chiming in, I’ll give it a shot.
They’re all part of the same group, right? If I remember correctly, the lead singer is an American woman.
The only track I ever really heard was that old Alphaville hit, "Big in Japan," which these guys covered in a pretty terrible way. It reminded me of how Madonna handled "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics. I used to play online trivia games back in the day, and there was this girl I always competed against who had that same nickname and wouldn't stop raving about them. But honestly, I can't say for sure.
Are their other songs anything like "Big in Japan"?

I’m not exactly blown away, but they still blow those other trashy European acts on MTV out of the water—you know, the ones like Grohl, Doctors, or those random pop groups...😠
Rock star status was actually pretty solid.👍

I haven't checked out their latest record yet (has it even dropped?), but I just revisited some of the old stuff and honestly, only a few tracks really hit for me. Rock star status, Lord of the Board...

...yeah, the new one (and the old ones too, lol), "Walking on a thin line," has been out forever... they're great... I own everything... totally obsessed...
No, it's not all just Rock star status, they have chill songs too, especially on the new record... so yeah...🙂

But I did catch that new music video they did (the circus one)—it's great, and honestly, the song 😁 is a banger too.

I’ve been following them since their very first album and that '97 single, Open Your Eyes, I think. I can listen to them anytime, and honestly, I own every single one of their albums. My personal favorite is probably Don't Tell Me, though I guess you could say it's their best work too.
Their latest album is actually pretty good as well. They already dropped the third single from it, Quietly. Personally, I think You Can't Stop Me was the best one.

For me, High Tide is the best stuff on the new album... and honestly? I'm with you—Don't Tell Me is the winner.

No Doubt is a total joke.
The only plus is that Sandra is our girl and she isn't out there working construction just to make ends meet!

I find them quite acceptable personally... I am truly impressed by Sandra's vocal talent... My only grievance is with The Swabians, as I have never cared for them as musicians... Walking on a Thin Line is decent enough... Their finest works include Kumba Ya, Lords of the Boards, and Open Your Eyes... 👍

Look, if you aren't feeling it, maybe give some French chanteuses a listen instead. Might suit your taste better. Besides, The Swabians actually produced some pretty solid musicians and bands over the years—think Can or even Jingo, for instance.

Lords of the Boards was my absolute jam back in high school when I went snowboarding. As for German music, Nena is obviously the GOAT—"99 Luftballons" is a classic! :-) (Does anyone actually have an English translation for that song???)
