I want a Yahoo email address

Hey Seth, since you guys already own the forum.com domain, I was thinking—wouldn't it be awesome if the community could actually get email addresses through forum.com?

Specifically, I’d love to request bobcarol@forum.com. Honestly, from a branding standpoint, it seems like a total no-brainer for you guys too.

Am I just shouting into the void here, or are there other people who would jump at the chance to have an address like that? Let me hear it!

We actually touched on this concept a while back during a discussion with Seth (our lead 😁), though, obviously, the whole thing hinges entirely on the financial framework, available resources, and various other variables.
...provided they can actually see a clear path to profitability—after all, let’s not forget that truly freebies are a vanishing breed on the internet these days, much to our collective chagrin.

The concept itself is certainly being weighed, and it doesn't strike me as a bad move at all 🙂 but, as I mentioned, there is absolutely no guarantee it will ever cross the finish line.

From a pure marketing standpoint, however, the pitch is quite compelling.
I mean... we already have forum.com, so why shouldn't we have @forum.com 😁
Of course, the real hurdle is determining how much storage space users would realistically allocate for this, and it's highly probable that the inbox would eventually become cluttered with ads, much like Hotmail or Yahoo.

Still... just for the sake of appearances, it wouldn't be a bad move. 😎

So, an email that’s just one MB already takes up 7 GB when you account for all the active users. That’s quite a bit, isn't it?

Sending it to an address that doesn't even exist?

Is there a way to set it up so when someone emails example@gmail.com, it just automatically forwards everything to my other account? It would save me from cluttering up one inbox. Is that doable?

Honestly, I think a redirection would be a decent solution, but I doubt that'll ever happen... for certain reasons 😉

Who cares about the domain space as long as the email works? It can be a redirect or any other cheap workaround for all I care.

And if we're actually building a legitimate email service, PLEASE make sure it includes POP3 access. 🙏
