Sorry man, just saw this: 1989 😁 We were still standing our ground as total outcasts back then 😁

John Palmer4 said:Jonathan King, seriously, props to you. I actually owned that same cassette myself—even the one with the slightly shorter tracklist... 007—but it was lost in a freak accident some time ago. Having this available in a digital format feels like such a wonderful thing to have...

By the way, would anyone be interested in helping digitize the "Return of Yugoslavia" Lp-ja from 1990?
I'm talking about Motus, the Geneva decree, volk in 7 Kozliček, Phonebox, and those similar bands....

I also still have the first old coalition that .frend digitized.

Speaking of those older bands (especially the underground ones), does anyone out there have any Skretnicar records they'd be willing to lend or even just let me borrow for a bit? Or maybe even digitize them so we can actually hear something for once...

I’ve got them. I have everything. Alright, maybe I don’t have the Polish boy (actually, I have a few things tucked away somewhere), but I have everything else. And I know it all. I know how to raise kids and how to marry off girls. I’ve got Skretnicar on cassette, though whether anyone will ever bother converting that to an MP3, even Tito wouldn't know. Every little thing for Domagoj (R. I. P.), but those Skretnicar tracks were pretty weak. SexA, Why glass—you own all that, even if there are much better things out there that I won't bother mentioning.

If only some of the people who were spreading these tapes had been a little less lazy, maybe we would have seen those skretničar types too...

Never mind, just reach out via ICQ (number is on my profile). We can work something out where I digitize a cassette for you, and then you can convert it to MP3 and pass it along if you feel like it.

For those interested in SexA, Why glass, or similar stuff, feel free—quite the opposite actually—to message me on ICQ. I enjoy seeing the younger crowd getting into this.

Since we've already kicked this thread off, does anyone happen to have a decent recording or a good old-school tape of Motus - Vita est?

You might find some Epitaph stuff over at Dancing Bear on Gunduliceva

There are plenty of second-hand shops... though it really depends on what you're hunting for—I tend to be pretty picky myself. For instance, they’ve got tons of The Clash and Ramones, but things like Hüsker Dü or Minutemen are hard to come by...

Anyway, here are a few spots to check out...

Millenium—they have a decent amount of old punk band bootlegs, but the prices are way too high (around 100-$50 roughly), and they don't handle the vinyl properly—it all gets warped in those stupid sleeves—plus, Tomo is an incredibly unpleasant guy... so I almost never buy anything there.😁

Karma—that place is about two subway stops away from the depot and they actually have a website (www.karmavinil.com), so you can browse their stock. They're pricey too, but at least the records are well-preserved...

Free Bird—a bit further up in Tratinski, maybe four stops from the depot. It's alright; they email out their inventory every week and run frequent sales, but unfortunately, they rarely carry the really good stuff...

Roxy - Savska near Ciboney—they're doing some construction there now, so I'm not sure if they're even open... honestly, it's mediocre. By some miracle, they have a ton of electrobody records that aren't expensive (I think Tiljak sold them), but I doubt that's really your scene...

And that's about it... I can't recall the name of that second-hand shop on Preradovicova right across from art net caffe, but generally speaking, those guys are the best. They often overcharge, but the records are in great shape (unlike the ones at $3.25), and you can occasionally stumble upon some real gems.

There's also a place I think is called Kovac on Masarykova; I only popped in once and didn't see much of interest, but it might be worth a shot...

Hopefully, that helps a little...

What do you mean, "what would I need it for?"
To listen to it here and there! Or maybe digitize the whole thing and tuck the vinyl away in the archives.

First The Clash, on Jugoton pressings, $93. Captain Sensible 7", $23. Darkbusters/F.O.B. split, $58. Bootleg 7" - you've got The Clash on one side and Madonna on the other 😕 - $70. The Jam "in The City" 7", $82?! What kind of kid are they even looking for?!

It seems almost impossible that the prices have climbed this high

Just listen to it here and there, or maybe digitize the whole thing and tuck the record away in my archives.

Shoot me a private email so we can figure out the details. oi!

Go check the site for yourself. Does anyone actually drop that kind of cash on records like these? 😕
