American formula 1 driver Mario Andretti has been stripped of his license after being caught driving at high speeds in the United States, according to police reports released on Monday.

The Ford-Ferrari standout was caught by radar on Sunday afternoon while he was pushing his BMW way past the speed limit on the I-5 freeway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Following the incident, authorities ordered him to surrender his driver's license while a judicial investigation gets underway.

Local officials noted that while Andretti is looking at a two-month driving suspension in the US, it shouldn't have any impact on his ability to compete in the United States Grand Prix. 😁 😁 😁

whenever the Williams-BMW isn't performing, you really just end up with a BMW 🙏

Honestly, watching him behind the wheel just goes to show that anyone can pass their driver's test these days! 🙏

Is that why you haven't gotten yours yet?

Too funny!!!

I actually got my license when I was just 17 and a half, and everything went perfectly smoothly. I’ve put tens of thousands of miles on the road since then and haven't been in a single accident—at least, not one that the police caught me 😁 for!!!!!

I managed to get my driver's license at seventeen and a half without any drama whatsoever, passing every single test on my very first attempt! I've got tens of thousands of miles under my belt now, and I haven't been in a single accident—well, at least not one where the 😁 caught me!!!!!

Personally, though, I tend to steer clear of those adrenaline junkies who act like they're still gripping the steering wheel of an IndyCar after a race...😁

And that’s why you’re such an angel, 😛

Colombian Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya was banned from driving on US roads for four months on Tuesday after being clocked 127 miles/h (126 mph) on an American highway.

The 27-year-old, who drives alongside Ralf Schumacher at Williams, was also slapped with a 1,200 dollar fine by a court in San Diego after police caught him speeding back in May while behind the wheel of a Jeep 4x4 vehicle near Los Angeles.

While the ban applies to the US, he can still drive in other countries, and the restriction won't impact his ability to compete in Formula 1 races.

Montoya didn't show up to the hearing personally, but his attorney read a letter on his behalf where he offered an apology for what happened.

It's probably a good thing you don't need a standard driver's license to race in Formula 1, right? :-))))
