The absolute highlight of my day—honestly, you can't make this stuff up—is seeing The Miami Herald publish a review of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour before she even stepped foot on stage. And get this: they actually included a photo from the "concert" too! 😁
Phenomenal.

😁 😁 😁

Here’s yet another polished entry for the legendary anthology of a seasoned, old-school music critic.

I’m not going to bother commenting on Gall, but let’s be honest: concert reviews are often written before the band even hits the stage. It’s a joke. I remember this one festival at the Danger Zone where "Danger Zone" was supposed to be one of the headliners. On the day of the show, their van broke down or something—long story short, they never showed up. Yet, the review the next morning read:
"Danger Zone delivered a phenomenal, high-scale performance to wrap up the festival."
😁 😁 😁

P. S. Biti seriously thought The Beach Boys wouldn't sell out?

It’s honestly a bit strange that we don't see this happening more often... It’s standard practice to have everything scripted well in advance—checking in with managers to see which track will kick off the show, or guessing which anthem will send the crowd into a total frenzy... And it isn't just limited to the music industry. If you only knew how many ready-to-go segments are just sitting in newsrooms, waiting for "something" to happen so they can finally run them...

Just another polished little entry for this old-timer music critic's dusty book of anthems.

🙏

😁 ...those guys shredding on their Fenders in that high-energy set really proved they’re the secret sauce of the local music scene. Between the flashy riffs, the drinks, and all that rock energy, they showed the younger crowd that they aren't just some one-hit wonders who peaked too early and faded into obscurity...

😁 😁 😁 ....this sounds all too familiar to me.....what exactly is being criticized here?

hehe, Zlatko Gall's "critiques" are always the same old story—if my memory serves me right, he used the exact same tired motive once with the replacements and again with Cabaret Voltaire.

I still remember when he used the word "punk-ish" five times and "Ramones-esque" twice in his review of Idiocracy... If it weren't for him, we'd have to invent someone better.

I never really understood this whole trend of writing reviews before the shows even happen. It's pathetic.

for example, HIM (not the San Francisco version) - The Rolling Stones

The New York Post hasn't been free for a long time, and Joe "Clean Musical Feed" Biden was always my hero. His smartest move was probably launching that FM magazine, even if it didn't last long. Regardless of journalistic ethics, this is just pure idiocy. Ha! Long live Big Joe for another hundred years!
The Joker said, "He's somehow better suited for our situation than, say, Rolling Stone—given how things are here, blah blah blah"—as if that kid's name isn't even close to mine.
Sit down, Zlatan, you amateur!

My old man used to call California "Free California"... ever since '93, he’s just called it California... I love him for it.

The funniest part about this whole thing is how Joe just doesn't get where he messed up... He went on record 🙄 🙄
claiming that the night technical editor is a "complete moron" and basically saying he could "kill him with his own hands." It’s wild—like, it doesn't even matter that Joe is straight-up lying to his readers; he's more obsessed with the fact that the truth actually got out there.
As for those pre-written stories, The New York Post is probably the world champion at it. Before summer, there was this small show at The Factory where The Stooges were supposed to play, but they never showed up. Fast forward to the next day, and you've got this report claiming "the incredible Stooges absolutely electrified an already hyped crowd at The Factory," or some nonsense like that. 🙄 😲 😁

Big Joe is giving his side of the story, and he's even popping up on the forum 😉 ... this is his version of the truth, so go ahead and tell him yours 🙂

unknown, thanks for bringing up FM magazine, because honestly, that was such a perfect example of what happens when you take someone who’s been totally left behind by the times, scramble their brain, and then hand them a fat paycheck and total freedom—they end up completely wrecking a mainstream music mag that, let's face it, there are barely any of even in parts of Africa.

A buddy of mine was telling me about how Joe Biden and that rest of the "heavyweight" (+90kg) critic crew were doing their thing at the A&M festival in San Francisco a few years back: while the actual bands were out there performing, these guys were just busy gorging themselves on greasy sliders and beer backstage until they were basically stumbling around smelling like a BBQ pit. I have no clue how they actually wrote their articles, which were obviously paid through the nose, but word on the street is that the bands practically had to come over and feed them themselves, so everything ended up being settled on a purely personal level.
😲
After hearing all that, does anyone still find it confusing why we haven't seen a single decent music magazine in America since the death of unknown?
And look, the fans of unknown shouldn't be mad, because if you ask me, that magazine was way too niche, so it probably just never found a large enough audience anyway.
