I was thinking about this while trying to settle on something to watch this weekend. It feels like every time a new name pops up in the rankings or someone finally breaks through for their first big win, the way we actually consume the sport has become so fragmented.

I remember when you just turned on a specific channel and knew exactly where the action was. Now, it feels like you need three different subscriptions, a specialized app, and a PhD in streaming services just to keep up with a single athlete's season. It's getting exhausting trying to track the momentum of players I'm actually interested in.

I love the thrill of seeing an underdog finally grab a trophy, but the barrier to entry for the fans is definitely getting higher. It's like you have to do a bunch of homework just to watch the actual competition.

Does anyone else feel like the "scattered" nature of modern sports broadcasting is killing the casual fan experience?
