I was looking at the upcoming schedule earlier, and I noticed how often teams are dusting off those old-school kits. Honestly, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it.
Don't get me wrong, seeing a classic look can be a huge nostalgia trip. There’s something cool about seeing a team honor its history, especially if the old gear was iconic. But lately, it feels like it's happening way more often than it used to. It’s starting to feel less like a special tribute and more like a marketing gimmick to sell more merchandise.
I remember back in the day, a throwback felt like a massive event. You’d see it once or twice a season, maybe on a holiday, and it felt earned. Now? It feels like every single matchup is an excuse to pull a jersey out of the vault. It almost takes away the "specialness" of the history they’re trying to celebrate.
Is it just me, or is the "retro" trend becoming a bit excessive? Do you guys actually like the nostalgia, or do you prefer teams just sticking to their current primary colors?
