Picked up an HP LaserJet Pro (USB + wireless).
Got it set up on one PC using the disc as a wireless network printer and everything’s fine. Printing, scanning, all the utilities work great on that machine.

Then I moved to a second PC on the same local network and tried using the Print Driver option.
The PC shows two versions of the same printer, which is kind of confusing—one says Web Service with a port number, and the other just looks like a standard printer.

I picked the one without the service and somehow dug up the driver in some subfolder on the disc via the "Have Disk" option.
The PC said it was installed, but I don't think the scanner actually works.
Since the utilities didn't install either, I wiped it because it felt messy, and now I'm stuck.
I tried reaching out to support, but they haven't gotten back to me.

I'm thinking about just running the full setup from the disc on the second PC like I did with the first one, but I'm worried about messing things up.
I guess I don't know if reinstalling will confuse the system.
If anyone has any ideas or dealt with this before, I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Go online and Register your device. Grab the latest drivers and utilities directly from the site because those old CDs are almost always outdated junk. Once you actually get the network printer set up correctly—assuming you don't mess it up—you shouldn't have to run installations ever again since it'll be sitting on the network with its own IP address. It should show up once you open your wireless network folder. I think Brother has some kind of Add Printer utility to help you link it to other PCs on the network; just look in the Downloads section or check within that massive bundle of drivers and tools you download at the end...

Thanks for the reply

I tried using the Print Driver and had to point it to the driver manually (which I
guessed would work since there isn't even a readme), and yeah, it installed fine, but it's not what I need.
It’s obvious the scanning utilities and printer tools that come with the full installation are missing (the ones that are already on my first PC). And obviously, I want that same setup on my second PC too.
So, I’ll probably just redo the full setup on the second PC exactly like I did on the first one using a disc (pretty sure it's the same stuff from their website).
Honestly, I don't see any other way to go about this. It seems like the only real solution.
Too bad the folks at Brother aren't helping much. If I knew they were this unprofessional, I never would have bought their gear in the first place.
I mean, surely I'm not the only person on the planet who wants to use a network printer on two different computers.

Thanks again

Go ahead and install all the necessary drivers and utility software on every single PC PC you plan on using with this printer. There really isn't any deep philosophy to uncover here; if things don't function perfectly after you've finished the entire installation process, then—and only then—is it actually time to dive into some troubleshooting.

I have no idea how you went about asking them for help, but just so you know, you're supposed to Register on their website, sign up your printer, and then submit an inquiry through the official form on their support page.

If you just sent a random email, it usually just gets lost in the void or ends up buried in a spam folder before it ever even hits customer support...

I actually sent a formal inquiry about this too.
I got an instant auto-reply saying they'd get back to me ASAP,
but it’s been 20 days now.
Yesterday I just installed it on another desktop (even put it on my laptop, too)
and basically just ran the same setup process I used on my first PC
and everything works fine.
I guess it makes sense when you think about it. I was just overthinking it by trying to use "Add Printer" like I usually do at the office.

Thanks, Henry Morales32, for looking into this and helping out.
