Does anyone else miss those old-school staged readings?

There's something so much more intimate about a raw reading than a full-blown big-budget production. I feel like we're losing that sense of community-driven art in favor of massive spectacles. Does anyone else prefer the low-key, experimental stuff over the polished blockbusters?
