There’s something about this time of year that always feels a bit surreal to me. You see all these clips of players running drills in the heat, looking incredibly intense, and the hype machines go into overdrive. For a die-hard fan, it’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of seeing the roster take shape, but I always find myself wondering if we're just watching a glorified exhibition of conditioning.
I remember back in my college days, we’d spend weeks doing the exact same repetitive drills under a blistering sun. At the time, it felt like the most important thing in the world, but looking back, it was mostly just a test of who could handle the boredom and the heat without cracking. It makes me wonder if the "momentum" people talk about during these early sessions is real, or if it's just us fans projecting our own optimism onto a bunch of people just trying not to get heatstroke.
Do you guys actually get pumped for these early training sessions, or do you just treat them as a way to kill time until the real season starts?
