I was watching some highlights last night and it got me thinking about how much fan loyalty is tested by how a front office manages a roster. There’s a specific kind of exhaustion that sets in when you realize the team you’ve supported for years is essentially just a collection of assets waiting to be moved around.
It feels like every few seasons, we hit this weird crossroads where the management has to decide if they're going to actually compete or if they're just going to treat the current lineup like a vending machine for other teams. It’s frustrating because, as a fan, you want to believe in the "core," but sometimes it feels like the core is just being held hostage until a better offer comes along.
Do you guys think it's better to stay the course and hope for a breakout, or is it actually more honest to just tear it all down and start fresh?
