Is it just me or is the soul of the game being sold off?

It feels like every time we turn around, some massive governing body is trying to squeeze more blood from a stone just to pad their own pockets. At some point, the "love of the game" becomes a total farce when everything is treated like a corporate transaction. Does anyone else feel like we're losing the actual spirit of sports to pure greed?
