I was talking to my neighbor the other day, and it hit me how much the logistics of just getting kids to and from school have changed over the last decade. It used to be such a given that you’d see those big yellow buses rolling through the neighborhood every morning and afternoon. It was like the heartbeat of the community.

Lately, though, it feels like that rhythm is totally broken. I’ve noticed more parents having to scramble or drive their own kids because the usual systems just aren't showing up like they used to. It’s creating this weird divide where if you can afford the time and gas to be a full-time chauffeur, you’re fine, but if you're working two jobs, your kid is basically stranded.

It makes me wonder if we're heading toward a future where "school proximity" isn't just about how far you live, but whether the local infrastructure can actually support your family. Are we moving toward a world where reliable transit for kids is becoming a luxury rather than a basic service?
