I was watching some footage of a storm hitting the coast last year, and it really hit me how quickly everything we consider "solid" can just vanish. We spend our whole lives building these heavy, permanent structures and planning our futures around them, but there's this underlying vulnerability that we all just collectively agree to ignore so we can sleep at night.
It’s a weird psychological thing. One minute you're sitting on your couch, maybe scrolling through your phone or making coffee, and the next, the very ground beneath you decides it doesn't want to be your friend anymore. That sudden shift from absolute normalcy to total chaos is something I don't think anyone is ever truly prepared for, no matter how many drills they do.
Does anyone else find themselves feeling a bit more anxious about "the big one" after seeing how much damage can happen in just a few seconds?
