I was watching some pre-season hype clips earlier and it got me thinking about how often we hear players talk about "feeling good" about the direction of the squad. Every single year, right before the season kicks off, there’s always that one guy who sounds like he’s just seen a vision of the future. It’s great for morale, obviously, but I can never tell if it’s genuine belief or just the standard script they're expected to follow to keep the fans optimistic.
In my experience watching different franchises over the years, the teams that talk the most about being "on the same page" often end up being the ones that fall apart by November. It feels like there's a massive gap between that early-season confidence and the reality of a grueling schedule. You can have all the talent in the world, but once the hits start flying and the fatigue sets in, that "perfect chemistry" usually evaporates pretty fast.
Do you guys think this early-season swagger actually predicts a winning season, or is it mostly just noise to build momentum?
