Is it just me, or is being a fan getting insanely expensive?

It feels like every time the league hits a new milestone, my wallet takes a massive hit just to keep up. I love the game, but the barrier to entry for following a team is creeping up way too fast. Does anyone else feel like the "fan experience" is becoming a luxury item?
