I was thinking about this the other day while driving through a city I'd never been to before. Usually, I’m a stickler for the GPS—follow the blue line, get to the destination, don't waste time. But lately, I've found that the best parts of any trip happen when you completely mess up a turn or decide to ignore the itinerary for a specific craving.

There's something about that feeling of being "lost" but actually being exactly where you want to be. Last summer, I ended up in a completely different neighborhood than I intended because I was hunting down a specific hole-in-the-wall spot I'd read about. It turned a stressful travel day into a genuine highlight. It’s funny how a wrong turn can totally change the vibe of a whole weekend.

Do you guys usually stick strictly to the plan when you're traveling, or do you leave room for those accidental discoveries?
