I was watching the game last night and couldn't help but feel like I was watching a rerun. It feels like every time a team hits a bit of a rhythm, they just fall back into these rigid, predictable patterns. It’s like they’re playing not to lose rather than actually trying to shake things up and catch the opponent off guard.
I’ve always been a fan of the underdog or the team that isn't afraid to throw a curveball—metaphorically speaking—at the strategy. There’s something so much more engaging about seeing a manager take a massive risk with a bench player or a weird tactical shift, even if it blows up in their face. When everything is so calculated and safe, the tension just evaporates.
Does anyone else feel like modern professional sports are losing that sense of "anything can happen" because everyone is playing it too safe?
