I was watching the lineup announcements this morning and it got me thinking about how brutal the roster churn is for these teams. You see one guy get the green light to return after some time away, and suddenly someone else is packing their bags for the minors. It feels like a constant revolving door sometimes.
It’s a tough way to make a living. You can be playing great, but if the timing isn't right or a specific veteran needs a spot, you're suddenly watching the games from a different city entirely. I remember following a team a few years back where a kid was absolutely tearing it up, only to be sent down because of a weirdly specific injury situation with a starter. It felt so arbitrary to the fans, even if the logic made sense to the front office.
Do you guys think the "next man up" mentality is actually helping teams stay competitive, or is it just a way to mask poor depth management?
