I was looking at the transaction wire earlier and it just hit me how much of a revolving door professional sports has become lately. One day you're riding high, and the next, the lineup looks completely different because of some freak injury or a sudden depth move.
It's tough to stay invested in individual players when you feel like you're just watching a game of musical chairs. I remember back in the day when you actually got to know a roster, and it stayed mostly consistent for a whole season. Now, it feels like you're checking the news every morning just to see if the guy you were rooting for is even eligible to play today.
Don't get me wrong, I get that injuries are part of the game, but the constant "next man up" mentality makes it hard to build any real emotional connection to a squad. It feels more like managing a spreadsheet than following a team.
Do you guys find it harder to follow your team when the roster is constantly shifting like this?
